EVERY STEP COUNTS

This thought came out of our house-group discussions last night....every step counts!...we were talking about perseverance and continuing our study in the book of James. We all have goals, aspirations, desires for our future, things we’re praying for to happen...the problem is that we can become so consumed with the finale that we forget that every step counts, it is not just a means to a distant end. If anything it’s an arrival to an end in and of itself, albeit a temporary one before moving on again.

Let me give you an example....if you’re an addict, the end goal is to be free of your addiction, and so it should be. But, every step you take on your way towards that goal is itself an arrival at a desirable destination! You’re a step further away from where you don’t want to be, and a step closer to being totally free!

Another ; we all want to become more like Jesus, but it doesn’t happen overnight, not for anybody. But there’s never going to be a point where you’re not going to be becoming more like Christ! It might be a slow process at times, but every step you take towards Jesus is a step away from what you were without Him.

So....don’t give up!....and in your desire to reach the end, please don’t forget that you are no longer at the beginning!....remember,

.....every step is a victory.....every step is a chance for celebration..... every step counts.
